Well June is here and as always she has brought her hot temperatures with her. We have been busy here on the farm. Calving season is still in full swing, chicks are arriving every other week it seems, the garden is producing (as are the weeds;), farmers markets are going, wheat is being harvested, soybeans are being planted and hay is being cut.
Yes, June is busy and hot but it remains one of my favorite months of the year. One reason being the beginning of CANNING SEASON! Hot, sweltering kitchens are my little piece of paradise. So far I have canned honeysuckle jelly and strawberry jam and I'm super excited to announce that soon we will have canning recipes with how-to videos on our recipe tab!
Today our cornish hens came in and they will be available for purchase within 2 1/2 - 3 weeks.
We are now offering goat meat! We have ground, chops, ribs, shoulder, leg, bones and organ meat available. Since we are still new to this we gladly appreciate any recommendations/requests on how we should have the meat cut. :)
We will be running several different 4th of July specials beginning next weekend (June 24th) so be on the lookout. Also, in case you haven't heard we can now accept SNAP/EBT benefits as a form of payment!
Thanks for your continued support!
